Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, Anadolu’nun tarihidir! Dahası: Anadolu’nun ta kendisidir! Kadim uygarlıklar ile bugün arasında 40 İlmiye büyüklüğünde bir köprüdür. Biz bu tarihi köprü üzerinde yürüyoruz ve atalarımızla, kültürleriyle tanışıyoruz.

Muazzez İlmiye Çığ’ı sadece bir kültür taşıyıcısı olarak görmeyelim. Aynı zamanda, kültürü yoğurmakta, sentezlemekte ve önümüze koymaktadır.

Kültür, canlıların varoluş zamanlarına kadar uzanan upuzun bir geçmiştir. Yani, hiçbir şey bugünle, bizle, dün ile başlamamıştır. Geleceğin başlangıcı da geçmiştir!

Muazzez İlmiye Çığ bize durmadan bunu anımsatıyor ve ‘Kendinizi bilin! Geçmişten öğrenin! Geçmişte sizin yaptığınızdan daha iyisini bile yapanlar vardı, onlara bakın! İnsan için kötüyü değil, daha iyi olanı alın, onu yeniden üretin!’

İlmiye, biliyorsunuz Osmanlı Devleti’ndeki bütün ilmi faaliyetlerin adı ve örgütüdür. Adları İlmiye olan köyler ve mahalleler vardır. Kuvayi İlmiye diye de bir kitap yazılmıştır ve Kurtuluş Savaşı sırasında öğretmenlerimizin kurtuluş ve kuruluşa katkıları ortaya konmuştur. İlmiye isimli çok sayıda da yurttaşımız vardır.

Neden İlmiye üzerinde duruyorum? Çünkü İlmiye ilim, yani bilimdir, bir aşktır, bir özlemdir bizim için, uygarlığımızın temel taşı ta kendisidir.

İlim aynı zamanda Anadolu’nun Efes’in doğa bilimcileridir, Herodot’tur, Homer’dir, Strabon’dur, Thales’tir... Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, bu anlamda Anadolu bilimi ile bir bağdır aynı zamanda.

Cumhuriyetimizin kurtuluş ve kuruluşunda bilim vardır. Atatürk bir bilim cumhuriyetinin temellerini atmıştır. Muazzez İlmiye Çığ işte Cumhuriyetin bu bilim temellerinden biridir.

O, bugün 95 yaşına basmıyor, İlmiye hanımın 4 bin yaşını da kutluyoruz.

Scientists are telling us that the climate crisis is becoming more serious every day, and it is putting all life on Earth at risk. You may have noticed how the weather feels hotter or how storms seem stronger. These are signs that things aren’t quite right.

Some might still think, “This won’t affect me,” but that’s not true. The climate crisis affects everyone. Problems like drought, floods, and food shortages are already happening. If we don’t act, these issues will only get worse. People may struggle to find water and food, and this could lead to even bigger problems, like fights over resources.

This year, 2024, has been the hottest year ever recorded. Scientists also warn that the Earth’s temperature is rising faster than we hoped. If we don’t reduce pollution, disasters like heatwaves and storms will become much worse. By the end of this century, the Earth’s temperature could rise so much that it might make life very hard for humans and animals.

But there’s hope! By working together to protect nature, save energy, and stop using polluting fuels like coal, we can make a difference. Let’s do this for our planet and for each other. And we hope our baby will also make his part for a positiv change!
